Individual & Couples Therapy

  • Individual therapy is a space that’s just for you - a place to talk openly, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening in your life. We will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

In therapy, we might talk about your current challenges, past experiences, or patterns that keep showing up in your relationships or daily life. Together, we’ll work to understand where those struggles come from and find healthier, more fulfilling ways to move forward. Therapy often involves developing coping skills, improving communication, increasing self-awareness, and learning how to manage difficult emotions more effectively.

  • Couples therapy provides a supportive space for partners to strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate challenges together. With therapeutic guidance, you and your partner can explore recurring patterns, unmet needs, and the ways you each show up in the relationship. Sessions focus on fostering understanding, rebuilding trust, and creating new ways of relating that feel respectful, open, and connected.

Whether you’re facing conflict, feeling distant, or simply want to reconnect, couples therapy offers practical tools and insights to help you navigate differences more effectively. It’s a process that takes honesty, effort, and patience - but with support, many couples find new ways to understand each other and build a relationship that feels more stable and fulfilling.

Therapy Approaches & Modalities

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based approach that helps you accept difficult thoughts and feelings, connect with the present moment, and take meaningful action guided by your values.

Instead of trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT supports you in building a rich, fulfilling life—even in the presence of challenges.

  • Attachment-focused therapy is based on the idea that our early experiences with caregivers shape how we learn to connect, trust, and manage emotions. These early attachment patterns influence how we relate to ourselves and others throughout life - often showing up in subtle ways in our adult relationships, our sense of security, and how we handle conflict or closeness. This modality emphasizes the importance of secure emotional bonds, and how to shift patterns to attain this.

As clients gain awareness of their attachment patterns and the emotions driving them, they can begin to make conscious choices in how they relate to others. This new understanding supports emotional regulation, fosters secure attachment behaviors, and promotes lasting psychological change.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and learning new ways to respond, CBT helps you manage emotional challenges and develop effective coping strategies for lasting change.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps individuals and couples strengthen emotional bonds by exploring and transforming patterns of disconnection.

Grounded in attachment theory, EFT supports deeper emotional understanding, fostering secure, resilient relationships through safe and supportive connection.

  • The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on strengthening relationships through improved communication, deeper emotional connection, and constructive conflict resolution.

Using practical tools and strategies, it helps couples build trust, intimacy, and lasting partnership.

  • Mindfulness is the practice of bringing gentle, non-judgmental awareness to the present moment. By cultivating attention and acceptance, mindfulness helps reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall well-being.

Mindfulness in therapy involves learning to observe thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with openness and curiosity, rather than judgment or avoidance.
